Despite getting an offer a few weeks ago, I got a call from Digene's HR telling me that I didn't get the job.
That's OK. Now I can concentrate my time and effort on winning the lottery.

That SO sucks. But everything happens for a reason - that job might have sucked just as much. The right job for you is out there somewhere - it just stinks that you don't just get like a memo or something so you can cut through the chase, doesn't it....

I came across your blog in conducting a search about this company. They have also offered me a job; nothing official yet, though. Could you please shed some light on why the offer didn't go through? Was it in the Operations dept?

i just know that i fiiinally got a call from their HR telling me that i was no longer their first choice even though the job had been offered to me by the person who i was to be working for.
it was not in operations, by the way.

Thanks for the comment! That's a pretty messed up thing to have happen . What are you up to now? Are you still on the job hunt? A piece of advice...if you're looking in the biotech industry, please, please steer clear of MedImmune, whatever you do.
